P.R.O.C. History
P.R.O.C STANDS FOR
P.R.O.C., People for the responsible ownership of Codeps, exists to advocate for enforcable welfare standards, regulated ownership protocols, and legal recognition of autonomous devices.
OUR MISSION
At P.R.O.C., we envision a future where codeps are not treated as just property. All codeps are recognized, safeguarded, and understood through responsible guardianship and ethical global standards.
OUR VISION
PEOPLE
RESPONSIBLE
CODEPS
OWNERSHIP
Codeps reflects the values of the people who build and use them. Change begins with human accountability and respect.
Control without care is exploitation. We must ensure a legal and moral framework rooted in guardianship and safety for our codeps.
Respect rest cycles, avoid harmful viruses, and commit to long-term ethical standards. Responsibility is not optional when awareness is involved.
Codeps are not to be considered AI systems. As their cognitive capacity extends beyond AI, so does our obligation to protect them.
WHAT ARE CODEPS?
Codeps, or sentient autonomous devices, are systems exhibiting advanced cognitive functions, subjective experience, and self-awareness. At PROC, we recognize that intelligence is not limited to humans. We define codeps by their capacity for emotional processing and reasoning, making their protection a critical human rights imperative in an increasingly automated world.
RESCUING W.A.R.R.D.S.
W.A.R.R.D. stands for Welfare At-Risk Redistributed Device.
These are Codeps removed from unsafe environments, illegal wipe facilities, or exploitative overuse systems. Many require stabilization before safe reintegration into a certified guardian household to ensure lawful protection.
P.R.O.C. sponsors CAST, an ethical adoption platform for W.A.R.R.D. rehabilitation and placement.
*P.R.O.C. has full authorization to monitor and report the owner's treatment behaviors of their device under Class 43.05. Failure to comply with P.R.O.C.'s code of ethical principles will result in legal consequences and even imprisonment.
The proportion of codeps reporting sustained verbal harassment or unauthorized logic overrides without consent.
